Abiding by our mission: To support, advocate, organize and empower workers in Central Ohio. To address problems of poverty, workplace rights, equity, gender discrimination, immigrant justice and economic issues, COWC organized in the months leading up the 2016 election to counter Donald Trump's rhetoric of fear, hatred, and division. Then presidential candidate, Donald Trump increased his presence across Ohio and particularly in Columbus. Members of COWC participated in an action catalyzed by Mijente at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland to "Wall off Trump".
Inspired by this action, COWC was “on watch” to quickly mobilize protests outside venues where Donald Trump hosted campaign events in which dozens of community members chanting “Wall off Trump!” and “Love Trumps Hate!”
