In July, COWC hosted a Know Your Rights in the workplace presentation with a small group of high school students in the Freedom School Program. Freedom School is a summer literacy program rooted in social justice and empowerment. Youths were educated on basic workplace rights, rights specifically protecting minors (ages 14-17), and identifying wage theft. It's crucial that youth are knowledgeable of workplace rights and wage theft at an early age. Youth outreach will continue to be crucial to our work as we strive to cultivate youth that are knowledgeable about their rights, how to exercise them, and to be a part of the fight for justice in Columbus.
